Hello, world!

Welcome to my new blog!

Following the termination of my previous blog on, I decided to put a stake in the ground and set up a new one. As to the topics and contents, they are going to be entirely up to my whim, so expect nothing and everything (but mostly the former).

I'll leave you with a formulation of the classic "hello, world" program from the K&R, one of my favorite computer books, in -- what else? -- the K and R languages.

Here's hello.k:

`0: "hello, world\n"

And here's hello.r:

cat("hello, world\n")

Finding the R distribution online is easy. As for K, one of the most fascinating and inscrutable languages I've ever encountered, you can use the fine kona project on github. Don't forget to look at the source code! As they say, it repays close study.
